Centered in Clay.

Centering the clay is the first step when you want to make a pot on the wheel.

It took me a long time to learn how to do that.

Anchor your elbow to your hips,

the right posture,

the clay has to be wedged well,

the wheel has to be spinning at the right speed,

so on and so forth...

It takes time, a lot of time in my case, a lot of practice and patience.

Over the years, I learnt how to center the clay and every time I sit on the wheel to throw a pot, I feel centered.

Centered here means completely in the present moment where my senses and my chattering mind are focused on the clay taking shape.

Welcome to this space where I share my thoughts on clay, the journey and everything in between.
