Surface Decoration: Sgraffito I
What is Sgraffito?
Sgraffito (Italian: [zɡrafˈfiːto]; plural: sgraffiti) is a technique in pottery, by applying to an unfired ceramic body two successive layers of contrasting slip or glaze, and then in either case scratching so as to reveal parts of the underlying layer.
My deep interest in surface decoration led me to try my hand in Sgraffito technique.
These pots were oxidation fired in the Electric Kiln. {Will do another post about the various firing types}
